What If Bailout Fails?

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

If the 700 billion dollar bailout fails… we're screwed!

I saw an article about how last Wednesday might end up being known as "Black Wednesday," for being the starting point of our current economic turmoil.

I saw a conspiracy post about how some guy months back had posted in a forum a ton of info about how around this time in September, things would start to go south.

Black Tuesday = October 28 and 29, 1929

Black Monday = October 19 1987

Black Future Day = October 2008???

Check this out, Wikipedia already has TWO "Black Mondays" listed for 2008:

"Black Monday, January 21, 2008 – one of the biggest worldwide stock market crash since September 11, 2001. FTSE 100 had its biggest ever one-day points fall, European stocks closed with their worst result since September 11, 2001, and Asian stocks dropped as much as 15%.

Black Monday, September 15, 2008 – a day in the Global stock market crash of September 2008, a worldwide stock market crash due to Lehman Brothers filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy and major investment bank Merrill Lynch was sold to Bank of America. Dow Jones Industrial Average lost more than 500 points, which is the biggest point drop since September 2001. FTSE 100 dropped 212 points, and it was the biggest one-day percentage drop since January 21, 2008. Hong Kong, Japan and Korea stock market suspended that day due to public holiday, and they fell over 5% on the following day (September 16)."

Google Maps Has Pictures Of Your House

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Probably.

I hadn't used Google Maps in a while, so it surprised me recently when I found out that they've got pictures of pretty much any location at street level. In 3-D! You can scroll around, look up, look down, look left, look right…

What I did was plug in one address, and then another to get directions. Each step of the directions had a camera icon. Double click one of those, or one of the green dots in the map, and up pops a picture of that location. Pretty neat, and handy too.

Get A Life Man – dot Com

Monday, September 1st, 2008

I recently stumbled across a pretty neat site:

GetALifeMan.com

There is enough room online for the most obsessive fanatics to spread their ramblings about what they think and do. Some people take a tiny idea, or a hobby, or even an online game way too seriously, and way too far. You've probably run into a few of these types before. I know I have.

So someone made a web page that swiftly and clearly lets these people know there are better things they could be doing with their time.

I especially like the picture they used. It's perfect!

Now, instead of being blown off when we type, "Get a life, man," we can make an impact with getalifeman.com. Heck, we might even change some lives…
